The Baptist Union of Great Britain has put together a new resource dispelling some of the myths of inter-faith collaboration.
The 12 Myths of Inter Faith Engagement addresses issues like whether
God only works through Christians, whether other faiths just want to
convert Christians, and whether the inter-faith agenda seeks to make one
world religion.
The resource will be launched on 19 November during Inter Faith Week.
It is designed for use in small group sessions to allow for discussion around the issues.
The BUGB hopes the resource will give Christians a better
understanding of other faiths and a new confidence in how to engage with
them.
"Our prayer is that 12 Myths of Inter Faith Engagement might be a
resource to inspire and equip the work to which we are all called," said
Ian Bunce, Head of Mission Department at the Baptist Union of Great
Britain.
"By confronting and overcoming the myths that hold us back, we can
become more confident in engaging with our neighbours from different
religions and cultures and building good relationships."
The 12 Myths of Inter Faith Engagement will be available to order through the Baptist Union of Great Britain online store from Tuesday 20 November for £3 a copy.
